Gay Wellington (covering all the GLBT colours and persuasions of our rainbow community) officially known as the Wellington Gay Welfare Group, is an incorporated society funded from a variety of sources, including the gay community, philanthropic trusts, Wellington City Council and community grants. The group has been active for over 25 years, and since its inception, has met a range of welfare needs for all of Wellington's gay communities.

The group is inclusive and primarily focussed on "rainbow" children so that they can grow up knowing that they are part of a larger family. Another important focus is providing opportunities for rainbow adults who have or want to have significant roles in children's lives to meet.

We encourage our families to form strong community ties locally as well as across New Zealand by offering support and friendship to individuals at all stages of parenting and by providing a forum for our children to make life-long friends.

UniQ Otago is the Dunedin chapter of UniQ Aotearoa. We are a queer student group based at OUSA Clubs and Societies, for all queer* tertiary students in Otago, their friends and their families.

UniQ Otago is based around a collective of 'active' members, members on our mailing list and those who attend our events! The UniQ Collective plan and organise queer* events, including queer dance parties and a weekly coffee meeting.
